* Assess the needs of young people to promote young people’s physical, social and emotional wellbeing (building life skills in personal safety and healthy living) through a wide range of activities including dance, art, crafts, games, drama, music and sport
* Regularly monitor and review the local youth work provision
* Mentor, coach and support young people of all backgrounds including those with challenging behaviour, encouraging greater social inclusion
* Work in partnership with professionals from other organisations that support young people such as education, social care, health, police, youth offending teams, community projects and local authorities
* Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the national youth work curriculum, safeguarding, health and safety and local policy developments
* Undertake administrative tasks, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries.
* Work with parents and community groups to win support for improved provision and act as an advocate for young people's interests
* Ensure that a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment is provided where individuals are valued, and appropriate adaptations are made to maximise engagement
* Work effectively with other colleagues across other projects to maximise opportunities for collaboration
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £22,750 pro rata equivalent to £12.50/hr (based on a 35 hour week) - pay increment pending
