In 2021, Brinc announced a series of venture funds to invest in high-potential early-stage companies through accelerators and provide LPs with a dedicated innovation platform and access to Series A+ co-investment opportunities.
Main Objective:
* Securing investment for Brinc’s Climate Tech portfolio companies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Growing Brinc’s network of global Climate Tech investors (VC funds, impact investors, family offices, angel investors, CVCs, etc.).
* Actively managing and engaging with Brinc’s Climate Tech investor network to understand each investor’s investment thesis and recommending relevant portfolio companies.
* Coaching startups on topics related to fundraising strategy (e.g., pitch coaching, investor materials, data room review, investor pipeline, navigating investment documents).
* Establishing scalable mechanisms for consistent communication and interaction between startups and investors (e.g., investor newsletters, investor match-up days).
* Manage relevant external partners to support startups in fundraising (e.g., Glass Wall Syndicate, Financial Advisors, Design Agencies).
* Managing relationships with Climate Tech portfolio founders and supporting them in post-program fundraising.
* Collating data on Climate Tech portfolio and reporting to internal and external stakeholders where relevant.
* Cultivating relationships with other value-add ecosystem partners (e.g., corporates, governments, research institutes, media organizations, grant providers, etc.).
Key Skills Required:
1. Investor Relations and Networking:
o Networking Skills: Ability to grow and maintain a robust network of global Climate Tech investors including VC funds, impact investors, family offices, angel investors, and corporate venture capitalists (CVCs).
o Relationship Management: Proficient in managing and engaging with investors to understand their investment thesis and match them with relevant portfolio companies.
2. Fundraising Strategy:
o Fundraising Expertise: Experience in coaching startups on fundraising strategies, including pitch coaching, preparation of investor materials, reviewing data rooms, building investor pipelines, and navigating investment documents.
o Investor Communication: Excellent communication skills to establish and maintain scalable mechanisms for consistent communication between startups and investors, such as newsletters and match-up days.
3. Project Management:
o Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage relationships with external partners that support startups in fundraising, such as syndicates, financial advisors, and design agencies.
o Program Management: Ability to manage the post-program fundraising efforts for Climate Tech portfolio founders.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Data Management: Ability to collate and analyze data on the Climate Tech portfolio for reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
o Reporting Skills: Skilled in preparing comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate portfolio performance and fundraising progress.
5. Ecosystem Cultivation:
o Ecosystem Development: Capability to cultivate relationships with other value-add ecosystem partners such as corporates, governments, research institutes, media organizations, and grant providers to support the broader Climate Tech ecosystem.
