Your New Job As Estates and Facilities Manager, you will oversee the management and maintenance of the Ipsum estate, ensuring we remain complaint with relevant rules and regulations relating to all aspects of facilities management. This is a newly created role, responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and compliance of all company sites, ensuring they are safe, functional, and aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements. The Estates and Facilities Manager will play a pivotal role in developing strategies, implementing best practices, and optimising operational efficiency. Principal Accountabilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management strategy, aligned to our policies, and covering all Ipsum locations. Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all assets and facilities are maintained to high standards. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, building codes, fleet and operator license requirements and industry-specific facilities management requirements. Effectively manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers, ensuring value for money and service excellence. Develop and control a central facilities management budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining operational integrity. Enhance workspace efficiency, security, and sustainability to support business operations across all Ipsum sites. Develop contingency plans for facility-related incidents to minimise disruption and maintain business continuity in emergency scenarios. Work closely with ESG and SHEQ on driving energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental sustainability initiatives at our sites. Play a proactive support role in the moving, transferring and leaving of premises whenever and wherever required (UK only). Play a proactive role when renegotiating existing, ending expiring and developing new property leasing contracts. About You Desirable Qualifications [& Professional Membership(s)]: Level 4 Qualification in Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management (IWFM) or BIFM British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) or equivalent relevant experience. Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) Certificate or NEBOSH certificate, Legionella/Water Safety, Asbestos, Gas or Fire Qualification. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Skills & Personal Qualities: Demonstrable experience in a similar facilities management role within a multi-site environment (utilities, infrastructure, or similar sector preferred). Experience of managing buildings across multiple sites, with a wide geographical spread. Strong knowledge of facilities management compliance, health, safety and environmental regulations, and risk management. Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation and supplier management. Knowledge of procurement processes and the management and monitoring of contractors and suppliers. Skills & Personal Qualities: Expertise in budget management and cost control. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices. Excellent communication, with the ability to give clear direction. Effective problem-solving skills. Thorough understanding of current UK health, safety and environmental legislation in relation to facilities management. Ability to effectively negotiate with landlords, contractors and suppliers. Strong commercial acumen. Attention to detail. A methodical approach to tasks. Ability to deal with complex situations professionally, whilst maintaining a customer focused service.
