Paint Sprayer

Job Summary:
Prepare, including masking and apply paint to a range of fabricated metal products to a high standard.
Duties:
1. To read and assess production information for required specification details.
2. To set up the spraying equipment making sure that all the materials are mixed correctly to get the right colour and consistency.
3. To carry out masking procedures.
4. To apply primer coats.
5. To apply the main coat.
6. To check the finished job as part of quality control.
7. To clean and maintain the spraying equipment.
8. To carry out paint rectifications.
9. To perform measurements and calculations.
10. To inspect/clean tools, equipment and the work area.
11. To safely dispose of waste materials.
12. To ensure safe operation of machinery within the area of responsibility.
13. To adhere to the Company's Health and Safety Policy and other safety procedures and guidelines.
14. To cooperate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety and report all accidents, incidents and concerns as soon as practicable to their supervisor, line manager or Senior Manager.
15. To adhere to the Company's environmental policies and legal duties, specifically control of emissions, management of solvents and the disposal/recycling of waste products.
16. To undertake other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature which reflect the level of those described above that may be required by management.
Knowledge and Experience:
1. Qualified to NVQ 3 or City and Guilds level or equivalent.
2. Literacy and numeracy skills.
3. Good concentration levels.
4. Pay close attention to details.
5. Good hand-to-eye coordination.
6. Ability to follow written instructions.
7. Safety conscious approach to work.
8. Expected to have normal colour vision.
9. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of different coatings and finishes.
10. Understanding of colour and colour matching.
11. Understanding of surface properties and preparation.
12. Knowledge and abilities to identify and control hazards and risks.
13. Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position.
14. Ability to keep or regain body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
15. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Ideally have experience with Machinery and Equipment used:
Hand, electrical and air operated power tools.
Precision measuring tools and equipment.
Paint Sprayer.
