ROLE PURPOSE
Our clients are seeking an experienced and inspiring Hairdressing Academy Manager/Director to lead their academy, foster meaningful relationships with apprentices and their employers, and ensure high-quality education delivery. This is a dynamic role that combines hairdressing expertise with educational leadership, team management and oversight of their commercial salon.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The delivery of hairdressing education programmes for apprentices, ensuring they meet industry standards and best practices.
Lead, support and inspire a team of hairdressing educators, relationship managers and salon team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, ensuring training programmes align with industry needs and apprentices are well-supported.
Oversee operations of the academy’s commercial salon, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for apprentice learning and revenue generation.
Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment to drive continuous improvement and excellent results for all apprentices.
Ensure all academy operations comply with relevant regulations, health and safety standards and accreditation requirements.
Contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the academy, identifying opportunities to enhance our programmes and expand our reach.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Experience – Proven background in hairdressing education or training, with experience of managing a team in an educational setting.
Qualifications – Recognised hairdressing qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or above) and relevant teaching and assessing qualifications (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, or equivalent).
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
CORE:
Strong organisational and people management skills, with a track record of inspiring and developing teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with apprentices, employers and staff.
Experience of managing a commercial salon or similar business would be beneficial.
A passion for hairdressing and a commitment to supporting the next generation of hairdressers.
