The Goods In Controller colleague is primarily responsible for all activities associated to vehicle movement, both into and out of the yard, alongside managing physical stock movements including non-magazine product. He/she will be multi skilled and able to sort and pack products both outbound and inbound in a timely and accurate manner to increase retailer satisfaction and reduce claims whilst providing warehouse support to distribution.
About the Role
* Management of live traffic in and out of the yard using controlled gate access.
* Responsible for the unloading of vehicles.
* Driver delivery manifest checks and signal away control.
* Records any shortages using the relevant documents and SAP Goods-in program.
* Reports any discrepancies including total non-receipt of product to ensure they are claimed for/queried with the relevant supplier or carrier.
* Scans in all product ensuring the correct issues are selected and full barcode is captured where available/valid.
* Ensures all extra supplies, supplements, free copies, multi-variants and partwork bank product is booked in as per the documented Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and relevant procedures.
* Checks and advises of barcode errors and price discrepancies (a semi automatic process within SAP).
* Ensures corrective action is taken, e.g. un-booking and re-booking
* Labelling and sorting of various products and parcels.
* Packing of all products using business process and systems.
* Loading and unloading of products using provided manual handling equipment.
* Sealing and strapping of bundles, totes and parcels.
* Achieving pack accuracy and cost targets.
