We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in flatted developments and possess strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.
- Minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Advise on a procurement strategy.
- Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks.
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
- Allocate work to subcontractors.
- Provide advice on contractual claims.
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
- Value completed work and arrange payments.
- Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role with a focus on flatted developments.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, COINS, or similar).
