What You'll Be Doing:
4. Environmental Communication : Effectively communicate environmental compliance matters across all levels of the organisation to ensure awareness and adherence.
5. Audits and Inspections : Conduct monthly environmental audits and inspections, analyse results, recommend actions, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
6. Incident Investigation : Investigate environmental incidents such as emissions or noise complaints, collaborate with specialists and agencies to identify causes, and prevent recurrence.
7. Performance Monitoring : Develop and review annual environmental objectives and targets, monitor performance data, and highlight improvement opportunities in EMS meetings.
8. Regulation Updates : Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations to ensure the company's policies remain current and effective.
9. Training and Education : Train employees on emergency response, hazardous material handling, and environmental management practices to ensure compliance.
10. Process Compliance : Ensure all plant processes meet environmental control requirements as per various permits and licenses.
11. Waste Management : Oversee the safe and legal handling of waste, including collection, treatment, storage, transportation, and shipping, ensuring 'Duty of Care' compliance.
12. Internal Audits : Maintain the internal auditing schedule and conduct audits according to environmental management systems (e.g., ISO14001, EMAS).
13. Community Engagement : Lead initiatives to engage employees and the community, promoting strong relationships through activities like charity fundraising and local projects.
What You Will Need:
14. A science-based degree.
15. A passion for the environment.
16. Previous auditing experience with ISO 14001 or IEMA/NEBOSH environmental qualifications is advantageous but not essential.
17. A full driving license and access to transport.
Your Package:
18. A competitive salary of up to £30,000.
19. A bonus of up to 5%.
