Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate, motivated, kind and calm who can work productively as part of a forward-thinking, problem-solving team.
Key responsibilities will include working directly with women who have experienced domestic abuse in one-to-one and group settings, providing person-centred and led support.
Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and flexible, and have proven experience of supporting women in a similar environment.
The ideal candidate would have:
* The post requires applicants to hold an SQA qualification in domestic abuse advocacy (IDAA), or be willing to work towards this qualification.
* Experience of working with MARAC.
* Applicants should have an understanding of domestic abuse and violence against women.
* Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to participate in training and informing external groups and services on the various aspects of domestic abuse and VAWG.
* Have a full UK licence and the use of a car.
* Be willing to go through training to become a Freedom Programme facilitator.
* PVG membership.
* Up to date knowledge of legislation surrounding domestic abuse.

The successful candidate will work within a progressive, focused team and will participate in increasing and expanding the outreach of our services into the community.
Full induction training will be provided.

Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is looking to recruit an experienced support worker to join our team. The overall aim of the post is to provide one-to-one support to survivors of sexual violence.
For this role, we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours, flexible start and finish times, or compressed hours.
A clean driving licence and use of own car is essential to this post.

Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow-on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.
The purpose of this role is to support our Women’s Team with providing a support service to women who are living in our refuges. You will support women being admitted into refuge and will respond to the practical and emotional needs of women as required. Although you will not be a key worker, you will attend appointments with women, signpost and advocate for them and support the running of our group work programmes.
It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced trauma or crisis. A suitable qualification that meets with SSSC Housing Support registration is also required (examples would be HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare). The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid.
Are you passionate about children and children’s rights? Do you enjoy working with children and do you have experience of working with children who have experienced trauma? We are looking for a CYP Outreach and Prevention Worker to join our team and provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse. Our service is delivered to school-age children, predominantly in a school environment. You will provide therapeutic 1-1 and focused group work to children and young people ensuring the service is driven by them and their needs. You will also deliver our unique prevention programme to schools across Glasgow to educate children and young people about domestic abuse in an age-appropriate way.
It is essential that you have experience of supporting children and young people who have experienced gender-based violence. A qualification relevant to working with children and young people, such as SVQ Level 3 Social Service (Children and Young People) is also required. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.
This is a busy role within our Enough! project that delivers support for young women experiencing domestic abuse in their own relationship. You will work with young women aged 13 to 21 years old, providing person-centered therapeutic support. Many of our young women have complex needs including care leavers and young mums. You will support the young women by working alongside partner agencies to advocate for them to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will deliver a group work programme and will be part of the dedicated evening drop-in for the service. Part of your role will be to raise awareness of domestic abuse among young women and deliver prevention work. You will manage referrals, waiting lists, support plans and case records.
It is essential that you have experience of providing support to young women who have experienced gender-based violence and that you have experience of providing 1-1 person-centered support. Knowledge of the court system would be desirable.
