The Role and Key Responsibilities:
We are a team of strategists whose mission is to deliver data and AI solutions for both internal trading desks and external clients. Our team’s products cover the range of financial subject matter relevant to strategists across a broad range of derivative products across fixed income, FX, Commodities, and Equities.
Strategists working in this role will also work with emergent genAI technologies and data platforms as part of their model development. While their core expertise will be in financial modeling domain knowledge common to strategists across GS, this role will also require a working understanding of genAI techniques and more traditional data science. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing powerful analytics to trading and clients to enable them to discover and analyze data and develop content.
* Developing APIs to help build scale, efficiency, and automation into existing workflows.
* Optimizing existing infrastructure for better performance.
* Working with global teams on high impact projects to influence business decisions.
Required Qualifications:
* Strong academic background with a MSc/PhD in a relevant quantitative field – Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, etc.
* Strong programming skills in at least one high-level language such as Java, C++, C#, Python.
* Comfortable multi-tasking, working as part of a team in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications – Vice President
* 5 or more years of programming experience, preferably in finance.
* Exposure to pricing, risk analytics for fixed income or foreign exchange derivatives.
* A track record of solving quantitative problems and delivering results in a high-pressure environment.
* Knowledge of version control systems Git/SVN/CVS a plus.
