Established in 2004, BioPhorum is a business-to-business membership organisation that has created an unparalleled environment for life science companies and executives, to collaborate and accelerate progress across the sector. The company uses a subscription model and has created 12 highly targeted “Phorums” (forums) with tailored content across multiple areas including Drug Substance, Drug Development, Fill Finish, Technology Strategy, Supply Chain Resilience, IT, Data and Digital, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, Quality, Regulatory, and Sustainability. BioPhorum’s expert facilitators currently lead more than ninety initiatives involving over 7,000 subject matter experts. BioPhorum has built a diverse and extensive client base of over 150 organisations, including 18 of the 20 largest global (bio)pharmacos. Beyond pharma, BioPhorum has also built relationships with other types of life science organisations, including those that provide services across the outsourced value chain (e.g., CDMOs), and academia. Over the last year, BioPhorum has established an exciting growth strategy, launched its first data product and completed an acquisition. Further growth opportunities are being planned in both the core Phorum business as well as adjacent markets. Against this backdrop, BioPhorum is looking to hire a Business Intelligence Lead. The Role At BioPhorum, data is the engine that powers business growth and operational excellence. The Business Intelligence Lead plays a pivotal role in both advising senior leadership and delivering hands-on BI solutions, ensuring that insights drive strategy and execution at every level. This role is perfect for someone who can bridge the gap between data and business strategy—equally comfortable presenting insights to executives and building powerful, actionable reports in Power BI. Main Responsibilities Executive-Level Data Strategy & Growth Enablement Serve as the primary data partner for the executive team, ensuring that leadership has the right insights to drive revenue, efficiency, and customer engagement. Translate business challenges into data-driven opportunities, advising on growth levers, operational improvements, and strategic risks. Work closely with Commercial, Finance, and Operations leaders to build data models that optimize revenue generation and operational scalability. Define and execute a data roadmap that aligns with BioPhorum’s long-term business strategy. Hands-On BI Development & Report Building Take full ownership of Power BI—developing, maintaining, and enhancing dashboards and reports that drive business-critical decision-making. Extract and integrate data from MS Dynamics, SharePoint, NetSuite, and other business systems to create actionable insights. Build predictive and prescriptive analytics models to support business growth and member engagement strategies. Ensure C-suite and department heads have access to self-service analytics while also delivering bespoke reporting where needed. Operationalising the Growth Model Establish metrics, KPIs, and performance frameworks that link directly to business success. Work with teams across Commercial, Client Services, and Finance to uncover data-driven insights that improve customer retention, revenue performance, and efficiency. Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for continuous business optimization, ensuring that data is a core driver of decision-making. Data Infrastructure & Governance Oversee and optimize the Azure SQL-based data lake, ensuring it serves business needs efficiently. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across all reporting platforms. Keep BioPhorum at the forefront of BI innovation, exploring new tools and automation opportunities to improve efficiency. Knowledge, skills and abilities Proven ability to engage with senior leadership and influence data-driven decisions. Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and data visualization tools—this is both a strategic and executional role. Deep understanding of growth models, revenue drivers, and operational analytics. Experience integrating data from MS Dynamics, NetSuite, SharePoint, and other business systems. Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with detailed report development and data modelling. A proactive, problem-solving mindset—able to work independently while collaborating with key business functions. Demonstrative leadership experience and an ability to make sound decisions based on fact and observation to build trust — able to use this leadership skill to deputise for the Head of IT on an ad hoc basis BioPhorum is a remote organisation UK travel expected twice per annum (however, this may change depending on projects and business requirements throughout the year)
