Job Duties
$5,000 Split Sign-On Bonus or up to $10,000 Student Loan Repayment may be available for eligible new hires
This position provides clinical services in the Mental Health & Wellness Department (MH&W) at major adult correctional centers, including individual and group interventions congruent with the level of skill and training. Completes documentation in inmate health records and ensures that documentation is completed by the end of the workday, while entering relevant data into CORIS and other databases. Participates in the Mental Health & Wellness department team meetings and implements interventions that the team and supervisor determine. Reports critical mental health needs immediately to the Mental Health Clinician Sr and collaborates with other staff if needed as soon as possible. May be involved with special projects or programs and deployed to meet current business needs of MH&W Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders.
Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans.
Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling/therapy.
Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices.
Demonstrated ability to provide training.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to participate in treatment team and interdisciplinary meetings.
Must be willing to travel throughout the Eastern Region
Additional Considerations
Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Social Work, or equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in mental health supporting the ability to fulfill the required tasks of a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of Virginia
Experience providing mental health services in a correctional, forensic, outpatient or other setting
Licensed as a clinician, QMHP or be QMHP eligible as dictated by the Code of Virginia
