Job summary:
As an Associate Account Director, you will be responsible for delivering excellence across projects within medium-to-large and often complex client accounts. You will serve as a client account lead, providing strategic counsel, managing project execution, and overseeing a cross-functional internal team alongside the account lead or sponsor.
Stepping up from the Senior Account Manager role, you will take on a more defined leadership role, guiding your team, ensuring client satisfaction, and proactively seeking opportunities for account growth.
Responsibilities:
* Manage client relationships, set expectations, and act as the primary contact for clients.
* Oversee a portfolio of projects within at least two medium-to-large client accounts, ensuring alignment with overall client strategy.
* Ensure high-quality work delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
* Address client challenges and last-minute requests, managing difficult conversations effectively.
* Challenge clients constructively to ensure optimal work quality.
* Maintain knowledge of clients’ businesses and external factors, providing strategic counsel and adjusting programs as needed.
* Develop objectives and strategies for new client work, ensuring consistency with overall program goals.
* Maintain proactive communication with clients and coach team members to build positive relationships.
* Facilitate client meetings and workshops, managing challenging conversations when necessary.
* Identify opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts and confidently present new ideas.
* Support new business development efforts, including RFP responses and credential presentations.
* Lead development of content for annual account planning.
* Manage team members, fostering a positive and productive team culture, and mentoring junior staff.
* Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
* Handle financial management of client accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing.
* Ensure profitability by addressing scope creep and over-service issues.
* Participate in internal initiatives to enhance team culture and development.
* Stay informed of industry best practices and share insights with the team.
Required skills and experience:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong data communication and presentation skills.
* Proven ability to develop solutions for client needs with high-quality deliverables.
* Experience in line management, with at least one formal leadership role.
* High energy and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
