* Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, ensuring that students are engaged and supported throughout the day.
* Help develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to students’ specific needs.
* Promote positive behavior and assist in managing challenging behavior in a constructive way.
* Support students in building social, emotional, and academic skills, helping them to navigate their learning environment.
* Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher and other relevant staff.
* Collaborate with other professionals, such as SENCOs, therapists, and social workers, to meet students’ diverse needs.
* Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) or autism setting.
* Valid and up-to-date DBS check on the online update service.
* Knowledge of SEMH, autism, and behavior management strategies is highly beneficial.
* Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to working with children.
* Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
* Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
Why Apply?
* A rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with SEMH needs and autism.
* Competitive daily rate (£80-90) based on experience.
* Supportive working environment with a focus on professional development and training.
* Full-time, temporary role with the possibility of future opportunities.
