Main Duties of the Job
As a Public Protection Manager, you will manage the council's community protection teams, with the responsibility for the licensing service and pest control. Your role ensures the provision of high-quality services within the Public Protection Service while developing and reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance with key performance indicators. You will work alongside internal and external agencies such as Defra, the Police, town and parish councils, and Area Boards, on a variety of projects, whilst also being responsible for preparing and presenting criminal prosecutions in the magistrates court.
Qualifications
Essential
* A professional qualification (such as BSc Degree in Environmental Health) or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and a commitment to maintaining this membership through the required annual CPD hours.
* Significant post-qualification experience, alongside specialist and up-to-date knowledge of Community Protection and broader national and corporate issues related to Public Protection.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
