About the role
This role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of our port facility, its personnel, and its assets. You will be working on a 4 On 4 Off, 12 Hours shift pattern 06.00-18.00 and 18.00-06.00 for a Fixed Term Contract of 12 months.
You will be responsible for:
Control access to the Port Facility, including collaboration with ABP as required.
Perform routine checks such as ship’s cargo, speed checks, searching (persons, vehicles & cargo), fence line checks (perimeter and internal), trailer checks, gate-lock checks, substation checks, conveyor checks, ID checks, and full terminal patrols.
Monitor restricted areas to ensure only authorised persons have access, and deal with unauthorised persons.
Conduct Security Mobile and Foot patrols of all areas.
Complete Terminal Light Tower Checks.
Act as a pathfinder in emergency situations.
Assist with other security duties as they arise, including covering for holidays and sickness.
About you
The ideal candidate will have previous security experience and a valid driving license. They should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the confidence to perform their duties professionally. Knowledge of conflict management is essential, along with computer literacy and the ability to compile reports using Word documents.
