About The RoleWe are on the lookout for a dynamic
Project Engineer
to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you will take charge of innovation and project management, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the needs of our
Operations function. Your Role As part of the Engineering Project Team, you will:
Manage Project Systems:
Maintain project management systems and procedures, handling all related administration efficiently.
Lead Projects:
Oversee a variety of projects from concept to completion, developing detailed critical paths and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Prepare Investment Applications:
Draft capital investment applications, establish timescales, costs, and resource requirements.
Ensure Progress:
Compile justifications and maintain the critical path to ensure each stage of a project meets budget and quality standards.
Provide Reports:
Regularly update the Projects Team Leader/Head of Engineering on project progress.
Create Layouts and Documentation:
Prepare AutoCAD layouts for plant/equipment and all project-related documentation.
Manage Contractors:
Supervise contractors on-site, issue permits to work, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with Suppliers:
Liaise with suppliers for competitive quotations, detailed specifications, and the procurement of appropriate equipment.
Exciting Projects Ahead Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:
Creation of new mixing production area including additional machines
Completion of current demolition plan
Installation of additional warehouse storage capacity including cold store development
Installation of new nut production line and volumetric feeder for seeds
Installation of over cladding to warehouse
Replacement checkweigher, case tapers, box labellers and other ancillary equipment
Roadway & carpark development
Support for heat treatment of nuts.
Review of jaws and tube capabilities across the site.
What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will bring:
Project Management Expertise:
Proven ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in Capital Projects:
Previous hands-on experience delivering capital projects.
Health & Safety Knowledge:
Familiarity with Health and Safety requirements in an FMCG environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
Food Manufacturing Experience:
Background in food manufacturing is advantageous.
PC Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Financial Acumen:
Sound understanding of budgetary controls.
Organisational Skills:
Excellent ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively.
