Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship - Norton & Co Accountancy Limited
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join Norton & Co Accountancy team. As an Assistant Accountant Apprentice, we are looking for someone who is on the pathway for a career in accountancy, having already completed AAT Level 2 or equivalent and is now looking to study AAT Level 3 and beyond.

Salary: £20,000 depending on experience
Working hours: Monday- Friday 9AM - 5PM (35 hours per week)
Location: Units 3 & 4, Market Weighton Business Centre, Becklands Park, York Road, Market Weighton York, East Riding of Yorkshire, YO43 3GL
Apprenticeship Details: 20 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Assistant Accountant Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).
Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)
As a key member of a small team, working in a fast-paced practice environment on a concentrated portfolio of clients, you would gain invaluable experience working with property management companies and offshore trust companies, with a range of duties that would complement your studies.
Your duties would include:
1. Recording transactions in the cash books, sales and purchase ledgers.
2. Making domestic and international payments.
3. Reconciling bank accounts, pooled client bank accounts, sales and purchase ledger accounts, property statements and service charges.
4. Preparing investment dealing and cash withdrawal instructions to collect fees from pension plans and trusts.
5. Preparing trial balances, including entering general ledger journals and creating lead schedules.
6. Assisting with the production of management accounts, including multi-currency consolidations and creating board packs.
7. Assisting with the production of statutory accounts for companies reporting under UK and international accounting standards.
8. Assisting with the production of UK and Guernsey personal and company tax computations and returns.
You will use software such as the Microsoft Office suite, Xero and other bookkeeping software, TaxCalc accounts production and tax return software, and Re-leased property management software.
Essential skills:
1. Must have AAT level 2 or equivalent qualification or experience.
2. Previous experience in a bookkeeping role in industry or practice.
3. Grade 4/C or above in at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics.
