Our Corporate Communications Team supports the delivery of communications and engagement strategies for the organisation. As the Senior Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our reputation and providing specialist communications support to our dedicated team, whilst protecting and managing the organisation’s reputation. You’ll create and deliver high-quality and diverse digital content, including producing video, graphics, and imagery for use across our digital platforms to create storytelling visuals, whilst leading on web content management and publishing. In this role you are responsible for both internal and external communications; stakeholder management; media and social media management and PR; and liaison with key stakeholders – leading as a communications business partner; providing media and engagement for our Officers and Staff. You’ll also support with major incident and emergency planning communications activity; advising and guiding Chief Officers – we are a 24/7 policing organisation so this may require some out of hours work too. Please view our Senior Communications Officer video here: Senior Comms Officer Advert.mp4 (sharepoint.com) Requirements: Qualification in communications or journalism with relevant experience Experience of working in a large organisation in a communications role Experience of working with media and PR professionals Proven ability to think and plan strategically, monitor and evaluate Experience of developing communication material for print, websites, and online platforms Recent experience of working with local and national media Experience of communicating managing organisational change Excellent IT skills and proven experience of social networking and websites methods of communications Experience of emergency services/military or regulated organisation (desirable) Well-developed interpersonal skills for persuading, influencing and being able to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers You will be able to work flexibly, coping with competing demands through good time management and ability to work under pressure Interested?
