Gartner is searching for an experienced Proposal Manager to join our fast-paced and dynamic global proposal team. This EMEA center of excellence provides first class end-to-end proposal management services, as well as proposal tools, templates and training to Gartner’s sales force. The Proposal Manager will have primary responsibility for all EMEA government proposals and must also be able to support proposals for other governments and commercial organisations worldwide as needed. What you’ll do Own and strategically lead proposal development, to include managing meetings with key stakeholders, creating schedules and driving projects to successful completion, on time and in line with quality standards and stakeholder expectations. Understand the organisation structure and develop an excellent understanding of Gartner’s portfolio of services, to be able to inform/shape your strategic guidance and execution. Leverage deep knowledge of products and capabilities to determine formal responses. Be responsible for analysing the RFP/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the clients’ needs and issues, and high quality of all proposals delivered. Identify red flags and issues in RFP requirements based on an excellent understanding of Gartner’s portfolio of services. Partner with multiple levels of sales associates and sales leaders to facilitate the development of the sales strategy as it relates to the deal at hand, and write strategic, client-focused proposals. Use product knowledge to support Sales in solution definition. Guide sales teams effectively in persuasive proposal writing and proposal best practice. Develop and leverage a deep understanding of the competitive landscape to customise win strategies and collaborate and partner effectively with sales teams to ensure demonstration of Gartner’s unique differentiators and a clear in-depth understanding of Gartner’s value and benefits to clients. Customise materials for the greatest competitive/differentiated impact. Coordinate effectively with sales, consultants, contracts, document services, and resources across all Gartner business units and shared services as appropriate, throughout EMEA, to write winning proposals. Use templates and content designed to promote Gartner brand consistency. Support global corporate proposal initiatives such as the development of content libraries, tools and templates. Other reasonable and normal duties associated with the Proposal Manager position, as directed by manager. What you need Experience of high impact, high value proposal writing, gained ideally in a multinational company/Fortune 500. Experience in developing in-depth product knowledge to support solution definition and identify red flags and issues in RFP requirements is critical. Experience in product-based offers or solutions. Experience of end-to-end bid management. Significant bid development experience, collaborating with multiple stakeholders through the iteration process. Experience of effectively managing multiple conflicting tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, agile and high-stakes environment is preferred IT industry/technology experience is preferred Ability to communicate and influence at multiple levels of seniority/leadership Specific expertise with government frameworks and formal procurement in either the U.K. and/or across EMEA required Excellent oral and written communication skills. Extremely strong writing skills with an exceptional level of accuracy Excellent attention to detail Expertise in Microsoft Office products (especially Word and PowerPoint) and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent required. Experience in business-to-business services or technology a plus.
