Reporting to the Technical Safety Lead, the engineering will be responsible for executing technical safety engineering activities within budget and schedule to maintain technical integrity for the specific area of project.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a discipline focal point for area of responsibility
* Maintain the required technical quality of work
* Ensure scope and schedule changes are controlled in accordance with the Change Control Process
* Ensure planning and cost control on responsible scope is maintained
* Identify potential resource requirements to the Lead Engineer
* Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and procedures
* Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel
* Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
* Keep up-to-date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope
* Review and approve work output of discipline assigned personnel
* Maintain good communication with the Client
* Visit the Assets specific to scope when necessary
* Assist the Lead Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
* Ensure discipline filing system for area of responsibility is maintained
* Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project
* Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
Competence Requirements
Education/Qualifications:
* Degree qualification in relevant subject
* Chartered Engineer with relevant institution
* Registered TUV certificate preferred
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
* Fully conversant with relevant Microsoft applications
* Conversant with discipline specific engineering applications
* Conversant with discipline specific codes and standards
* Knowledgeable in the application of the relevant discipline engineering applications
Experience:
* Considerable experience in the practical application of the relevant engineering principles and their application to engineering projects
* Reasonable experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry and the application of discipline specific equipment therein
* Considerable knowledge of engineering materials used within discipline
* Considerable knowledge in the requirements and needs of other disciplines
* Some experience in managing discipline teams
