Job summary We are looking for an inspirational, energetic and experienced Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) educator to join our infusion suite team. We want you to help shape the delivery of practice and professional education and training for SACT across the Trust. You will use your knowledge and skills to support the development of others, promote a positive and creative culture of learning and staff development and provide consultancy support for others offering advice and guidance on education and training issues relating to SACT.You will need to be confident in a clinical teaching environment and have experience in mentoring other colleagues. You will empower our new colleagues to become confident and competent in the workplace, keep accurate training records and be able to show evidence of consistent and sustained improvements in standards of practice in this area. Main duties of the job The main duties of the role are to lead in the delivery of practice and professional education and training for SACT across the Trust, in collaboration with the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse and the Lead Cancer Nurse.You will be expected to support the Infusion Suite team, Haematology Day Unit and have oversight of the CNS and Willow Day Unit competencies. You will be expected to promote a positive and creative culture of learning and staff development and to support colleagues in the development of knowledge and skills through acting as an assessor, teacher, mentor and facilitator in order to complete and maintain the UKONS SACT passport for each SACT-trained member of staff. You will plan and deliver research/evidence-based care and treatment in partnership with other health professionals and the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse and participate in the formulation of clinical guidelines and policies, providing research based information to the process. You will be required to maintain the annual SACT competencies for the registered nursing staff on Infusion Suite and Haematology team and to support staff with their ongoing professional development.
