We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic colleague to join the current team of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, sharing in the acute obstetrics and gynaecology cover, as well as a share of elective activity. We are developing a multi-disciplinary team working in our specialities and it is important that potential applicants have the desire to work as a unified, happy team. Our Trust has two acute Obstetric & Gynaecology departments which are both established training centres for undergraduate and postgraduate training wiwith excellent training facilities, centred on Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. These departments contribute to one of the largest integrated care providers in England, serving a population of around 600,000 people. Main duties of the job The post involves labour ward cover and Maternal Medicine clinics, with gynaecology clinics and emergency gynaecology cover depending on skills. The post holder will participate in the Tier 3 non-resident cover at Darlington Memorial Hospital. This is currently a 1:11 rota. SPECIALITY SERVICE Within the County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust there are Clinical Care Groups and Obstetrics and Gynaecology sits within the Family Health Care Group. The Department provides an acute service across both Darlington Memorial Hospital (DMH) and University Hospital North Durham (UHND), as well as outpatient services at Bishop Auckland Hospital (BAH), Shotley Bridge (SBH) and Chester le Street (CLS) day case procedures are also performed at BAH.
