The Role
Reporting to the Healthcare Director and working within a team of 4, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for the preparation of administrative and analysis work for clients of various types and sizes. The Accounts Assistant’s role will include undertaking work alongside Senior Accountants to manage client workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
The role will be based at our Chesterfield office with hybrid working options available. Ideally we are looking for someone 30 hours per week, none working day being Friday, however we can also accommodate full-time.
Key Responsibilities
On behalf of our clients:
1. Completion of bookkeeping in support of other work
2. Preparation of detailed income and expenditure analysis work from clients incomplete records
3. Preparation of bank reconciliations
4. Preparation of detailed wages analysis from clients payroll records
5. Preparation of draft tax computations and capital allowance claims
6. Completion of administrative work
7. Demonstrate commitment to timely completion of jobs
8. Demonstrate commitment to the completion of jobs to a high standard of accuracy and efficiency
9. Have good organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met
10. Ensure all client emails / phone calls etc are dealt with in a timely manner
On behalf of our Healthcare team:
1. Keep our job allocation software up to date
2. Dealing with the new client process and ensuring all procedures are followed
3. Awareness and maintenance of departmental admin procedures
4. Awareness of software packages used in the department, including training where necessary
5. Ensure work is completed within the timeframes given by the Managers
6. Keep up to date on the stage of completion of work from the team ensuring any problems are addressed in a timely manner
7. Ensure our accounting software is kept up to date and complete software roll over procedures
8. Ensure our practice management software is kept up to date including timesheet entries and workflow
9. Ensure technical knowledge is kept up to date by completing appropriate CPD to ensure continued personal development
10. Complete core skills / other training
11. Attend and contribute to team meetings
12. Understand and provide input into department processes
