Job Title: Construction Estimator Location: Colchester, Essex (In-person role) Salary Range: £65,000 - £80,000 (Dependent on Experience) Job Type: Full-time We're excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Colchester, Essex. As a key member of our estimating team, you'll be working on projects ranging from £500,000 to £15 million, covering various aspects of the commercial construction sector. Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Tendering : Prepare accurate estimates for commercial construction projects, including producing Bills of Quantities, rate compilation, and tender pricing. Take-offs & Technical Expertise : Perform detailed take-offs and review project specifications to ensure accurate and compliant estimates. Subcontractor & Supplier Management : Analyze and compare subcontractor quotes to ensure cost efficiency and competitiveness. Contract Knowledge : Utilize your knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts to ensure estimates align with contractual requirements. Collaboration : Work closely with project teams and senior management to ensure the alignment of project goals with cost estimates and timelines. About You: Commercial Construction Experience : Proven experience in estimating within the commercial construction sector. Main Contractor Experience : Previous experience working for a main contractor with a strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Excel for rate building, cost tracking, and analysis. Expertise in producing take-offs and preparing Bills of Quantities is essential. Analytical Abilities : Strong analytical skills to assess and compare subcontractor quotes to identify the best cost-effective options. Experience Level : Minimum of 4 years' estimating experience within the commercial construction sector. Other Requirements : A full UK driving licence is required.
