About the role: Art TeacherActivate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Art and Design Teacher to join our teaching team based at Reading College. The role will deliver across our Art qualifications (L2, L3, FAD and T-Level), possibly including our new T-Level in Fashion and Textiles so experience of Fashion and Textiles, Design, Pattern cutting and the fashion industry would be advantageous and desired. T-Level qualification awarding body is Pearson and the remaining qualifications in Art and Design are with University Arts Awarding Body so experience of UAL qualifications and knowledge of Pearson or T-Level qualifications is also desired in applicants for this role. This is a permanent, full-time role based at Reading College, commencing from June. What do you need to be successful as an Art Teacher at Activate Learning? We are looking for people who can act as positive role models for our students and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. We want teachers who can ensure that students leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. The successful candidate will:Be a qualified teacher with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, or working towards a teaching qualification.Have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree within an Art & Design pathwayHave recent teaching experience in an FE environment and a proven track record of managing and tutoring student groupsA working knowledge of UAL Art & Design and Pearson T-Level programmes would be an advantageAn open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning toolsYou will have the ability to expose students to a wide range of skills within Art & Design.
