About the Role – Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, supporting, and developing communication skills for students across different age groups. You will work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals to provide targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and support students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), including those with EHCPs.
• Develop and deliver individual and small-group therapy sessions, tailored to students’ needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom.
• Provide guidance and training to school staff and parents to support students' communication development.
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews, ensuring interventions are effective.
What We’re Looking For
• Recently qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) or a graduate in Speech and Language Therapy with a passion for working in education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Experience (or a strong interest) in working with children and young people in an educational setting.
• HCPC registration (or working towards it) is desirable.
