Role Overview
The successful candidate will teach Design Technology and Engineering across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that cultivate students’ practical and creative abilities, as well as their understanding of technical concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Design Technology and Engineering across Key Stages 3 and 4 (potential to teach KS5)
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity and technical understanding
* Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with the school’s assessment policy
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development within the DT & Engineering department
* Maintain a safe, practical learning environment in line with health and safety regulations
* Participate in the wider school life, contributing to the school’s continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related subject. You should have experience teaching at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience highly desirable. The successful candidate will be passionate about hands-on learning and committed to developing students’ skills and confidence in both design and engineering principles.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field
* Experience teaching DT and Engineering at KS3 and KS4
* A strong understanding of practical and theoretical concepts in Design Technology and Engineering
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in learning
