Job Purpose We are currently seeking a lead for our Payments department. The selected individual will oversee daily processes and engage directly in business-as-usual activities. A profound understanding of the payments landscape is essential, as is comfort in operating in a high-volume, deadline focussed environment. This role is based on site 5-days-a-week at our HQ at One New Change. Duties/Responsibilities Oversee and ensure smooth execution of inbound fund allocations and outbound client payments Manage and monitor mass payment runs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness Lead and manage a payments team of 7, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional development Allocate responsibilities effectively across the team to optimize efficiency and coverage Provide regular training and support to enhance the team’s expertise in payment processes and regulatory compliance Driving identification and implementation of process efficiencies Develop and track key performance metrics for payment operations, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement. Prepare and present detailed reports on payment activities, team performance, and risk assessments to leadership. Ensure all processes adhere to legal/regulatory requirements, internal policies and guidelines Support the identification and management of service affecting incidents Application of risk identification and mitigation strategies Be an active member of the Operations leadership team and assist in mentoring junior staff Skills Required 5 years payments experience 3 years supervisory / managerial experience Cash or securities trading background Safeguarding / CASS knowledge Eagerness to help transform a crucial business function Knowledge of regulatory framework and AML procedures A "can do" attitude and a positive disposition to change Proficient at establishing credibility quickly and building relationships with a range of stakeholders Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) Good level of excel and data management skills Possess excellent analytical skills, with ability to think independently and draw conclusions Learning mind-set and willingness to develop key skills and competencies Ability to work well under pressure, maintaining high accuracy in a fast-paced environment Benefits of working at GC Partners 25 days of holiday per year, plus bank holidays Workplace pension – employer contributions Complimentary Health insurance Employee assistance programme A truly global business with opportunities for growth Equal Opportunities At GC Partners, we value diversity and inclusivity.
