Location: Throughout the Yorkshire Water region, but based at Buttershaw HQ (Bradford) - Hybrid Working (usually 2 days in the office a week)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Grounds & Winter Maintenance Manager to join the Land & Property team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

As an integral part of Yorkshire Water's Land & Property team, this role will lead, drive, and be responsible for all aspects of grounds maintenance and winter maintenance across Yorkshire Water's estate. This is a new role and it provides an opportunity to make a positive contribution to a business-critical area and really make a difference.
The role holder will have the ability to guide the strategic direction and show what good service truly looks like on all matters relating to grounds and winter maintenance. Liaising with colleagues across Yorkshire Water and engaging at all levels to ensure that business needs are met or exceeded in a collaborative and consistent manner.
Where you fit in:
As our Grounds & Winter Maintenance Manager, you will:
* Delivering Outcomes: Ensure contractor and if required in-house teams deliver all aspects of grounds and winter maintenance in accordance with contractual obligations.
* Critical thinking: Challenge business as usual and prepare business cases for the more effective use of both existing and new supply chains. Seeking to optimise the service provision and enhance the value proposition.
* Performance management: Work with the relevant contractors to resolve any deficiencies in standards, performance or compliance and undertake compliance auditing to ensure all H&S requirements are met.
* Health & Safety/Training: Liaise with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure Yorkshire Water's Health and Safety policies and procedures and legislative requirements are fully understood and complied with and appropriate training is delivered.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* People Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage remote teams.
* Commercial acumen: Commercially focused with a proven track record of delivering value and process efficiency.
* Communication: Ability to utilise a variety of communication styles & tools in order to deliver desired outcomes.
* Qualification: A relevant qualification in Horticulture, grounds maintenance (BALI), facilities management, or Health and Safety.
* Experience: Experienced operational manager within a leadership role within a Grounds Maintenance environment and an understanding of approved codes of practices and legislation relating to the service delivery.
* Full UK Driving Licence: The role requires travel throughout the Yorkshire Water region.

* Relationship management: Demonstrable experience of managing daily client/customer relationships and service provision.
* Contract Management: Experience of working with contract specifications and planning resources in response and experience of implementing and embedding new contracts.
* Health & Safety: Experience of Health and Safety and operational asset management (e.g. plant, fleet, machinery) within field-based operations.
