The Ultimate Care Group is a privately owned Specialist Residential Aged Care Services Provider. We offer rest home, hospital, and dementia care to the elderly in 19 residential facilities throughout New Zealand.
At Ultimate Care Bishop Selwyn, we have a permanent part-time opportunity available for an Activities Coordinator experienced in an Aged Residential Care environment.
You will be our kaitiaki for our weekend Activities Program, dedicated, reliable, and passionate about working with the elderly.
Te Turanga - About the role
You will:
1. Deliver the scheduled activities program for the village hospital as required.
2. Provide clinical support to our passionate activities team and work closely alongside the Care staff.
3. Assist and guide our residents to take part in activities programs that are appropriate for their needs.
4. Build strong relationships with residents, staff, and visitors.
5. Remuneration rate: dependent on experience, qualifications, and registration.
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, creative, outgoing, and can think outside the square. You will have a genuine love for the elderly and want to make a difference in their lives, with the support of their families. You will need:
1. Experience in caregiving or activities in an aged care environment desirable.
2. To be able to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - 10 am - 3 pm.
3. Current First Aid certificate is preferred. If not, this can be attained.
4. Strong communication skills capable of working with a variety of residents, their families, and staff.
5. Empathy and commitment to excellence in care of the elderly.
6. To be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Te Ao Maori and tikanga to ensure all services are culturally appropriate, fit for purpose, and embedded into our day-to-day mahi.
