Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Department for a Full-Time Band 6 who is professional, enthusiastic, and innovative with an interest in JAG accreditation. The successful candidate should demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude and possess the skills and experience to provide clinical leadership, ensuring care is delivered effectively and efficiently within the unit. Evidence of experience within endoscopy is essential.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be a competent clinical staff member who will provide effective leadership in support of the unit manager and deputy manager, supervising a team of nurses to ensure the best standards of specialized care are provided. They will work collaboratively with the unit manager and Matron to develop services for patients within the endoscopy unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for working towards and maintaining JAG status for the department, working as part of the multidisciplinary team for gastroenterology.
They will demonstrate significant clinical endoscopy experience and have documented and evidenced competency in all aspects of endoscopy nursing. The candidate will provide sound clinical expertise to their team and be a role model for expert clinical care within the Endoscopy department, leading on specific projects and management functions as delegated by the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse. They will demonstrate a significant level of specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the clinical functions of care delivery, including knowledge of JAG/GRS/Decontamination. They will provide advice and guidance and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs for all patients within the Endoscopy department.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Significant post-registration experience in Endoscopy
* Knowledge of JAG/GRS Processes
* Completion and evidence of clinical competency in endoscopy nursing
* Knowledge of local policies/procedures and guidelines
Desirable Criteria
* Degree in a relevant clinical/professional subject
* Experience of managing staff
* Experience of undertaking audit work, research, and standard setting
* Ability to speak Welsh
