About the role
Debt Administration and Triage
Job Summary
Salary: £14,286.00
Workplace: office based
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for a well-organised adviser to work within our debt advice and income maximisation service. You will be an integral member of our debt advice process. Unlike most models, our clients have the opportunity, at the point of contact, to speak to an experienced debt adviser who has the expertise to quickly diagnose issues, deal with emergencies, and answer technical questions. There is no casework involved in this role. You will be the first point of contact providing initial advice about all issues, before directing clients through appropriate next steps. This work requires a level of understanding in data collection, debt enforcement, insolvency and court processes.
You will be part of a friendly, dedicated team with a real focus on clients. We are able to measure our success by the outcomes we get for our clients, rather than the number of cases we can push through. We have worked together to build our debt advice service and pride ourselves on providing a holistic service that meets the needs of our clients at each stage of their journey.
The post is part-time (22.5 hours per week to be worked over 3/4 days). You will need to work from our office in Minehead. This job has occasional travel for meetings and training.
Key requirements of the role
1. Support and work closely with our primary Debt Specialist.
2. Provide initial debt triage sessions to assess next steps, including accessing Breathing Space.
3. Provide confirmation of advice to all clients and ensure they are supported to manage their next steps.
4. Manage incoming referrals for debt and energy debt advice.
5. Manage internal and external referrals, including liaising with support workers and other agencies.
6. Ensure trends are identified and reported.
7. Ensure that all advice meets current quality standards.
8. Ensure the service is adjusted to meet the needs of the client.
9. Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
10. Ensure that all work conforms to the organisations systems and procedures and funder requirements.
