About the Role NB This is a fixed term contract for six months with possibility of extension We are looking for a motivated Communications Executive to join our vibrant Group Communications team on a fixed term contract. You will support the team in delivering its communications activities across OUP, to engage audiences around who we are, what we do, and what we believe, and to maintain our strong reputation internally and externally. This role will have the opportunity to experience and support all disciplines within the Group Communications team-which covers PR, Social Media, Brand, and Internal Communications - with an emphasis on social media and internal communications. Duties of the role will include: Helping to source and generate content for our key internal and external channels including our website and social media accounts, internal newsletter, intranet, and global briefings. Optimizing our internal and social channels by ensuring high-quality content, setting guidance on channel use, and maintaining good channel planning. Providing timely and efficient data-driven reporting and insight of key channels and communications in order to inform OUP's communications activities and shape future activities. Building effective internal networks across OUP as well as meaningful community on our social channels, to understand and support the communications needs of key stakeholders, and to help source content to share. Working closely with the wider Group Communications team, providing support on key projects and campaigns. Adhering to the principles of communications best practice, including supporting the Group Communications team's focus on integrated communications by tailoring content for different audiences and platforms. Helping to identify opportunities for the team - for example through media monitoring, social listening, identifying campaign hooks, and using internal and external networks to source content and extend the reach of our campaigns. We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have/be: Some experience of delivering internal or external communications An understanding of effective communications techniques. Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint design) Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences A good networker with the confidence and ability to engage at all levels. Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise successfully. Ability to build strong relationships with others Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to effectively prioritize and manage a broad and demanding workload Experience of using social media, mass email applications, and an understanding of the role of intranet platform (desirable) Benefits We care about work/life balance here at OUP.
