We have welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Oxofordshire, committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for their pupils. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated teams and support the learning and development of our youngest learners in Years 1 and 2. This begins March 2025.
Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
* Support the teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities.
* Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support in literacy and numeracy.
* Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining a stimulating learning environment.
* Help to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
* Provide emotional and social support to pupils, fostering confidence and independence.
* Supervise children during break times, lunchtimes, and on school trips.
* Support children with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive appropriate help.
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
* A patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* An ability to work well within a team and take initiative when required.
