The Revenues, Benefits and Customer Service team plays a key role in the assessment and collection of council tax, business rates, housing benefit, and council tax reduction. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team as a Revenues Recovery Officer to help collect outstanding council tax and business rates. This is a varied role which involves negotiating payments, maintaining accurate records, and determining appropriate recovery actions. You must be an excellent verbal and written communicator who is comfortable talking with members of the public and businesses. Full training will be provided, so previous experience is not essential. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate: Knowledge of or ability to learn revenues legislation Experience in debt collection/recovery Strong negotiation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure Empathy when dealing with vulnerable customers A positive, ‘can do’ attitude Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach Team player, with the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines. This position will have an element of hybrid working and will combine working from home and working in the office.
