Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm

Joseph Heler Cheese, a mission-driven organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality cheese products, is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior National Account Manager to join our dynamic Sales department.
Role Description:
This is a 100% New Business Development role, fully dedicated to identifying and securing new, high-value opportunities within the UK retail sector, with no responsibility for managing existing accounts or maintaining current relationships. The focus of this role is singular: to win a few highly targeted, big-ticket business deals within the cheese category that will significantly impact the company’s growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategy to engage and convert major retail clients, concentrating on large-scale wins that align with the company’s broader objectives. The role demands a proactive and strategic approach, ensuring constant engagement with senior decision-makers across the retail industry and fostering new partnerships from the ground up. This individual will need to be a self-starter, working autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align operations, logistics, and financial planning with new business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* New Business Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic plan for securing new business in the targeted retail sectors.
* Relationship Building: Establish strong communications and relationships across functions and hierarchies within retailers.
* Cross-Functional Work: Coordinate with internal teams, including Operational teams for packaging and forecasting, and logistics for cheese production.
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal senior management, including Sales Director and Finance, to ensure alignment on pricing strategies.
* Reporting: Monitor and report on strategy progress, focusing on incremental sales, volume growth, revenue, and margin enhancement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
* Deliver incremental sales and tonnage growth while enhancing profit margins.
* Demonstrate successful development and execution of a clear business strategy, with measurable progress.
Personal Profile:
* Energetic & Focused: A dynamic and highly motivated individual capable of achieving targeted business wins.
* Proven Track Record: Demonstrated history of significant business wins, particularly with UK retailers.
* Relationship Builder: Able to form new relationships from scratch, with key decision-makers across retailer hierarchies.
* Emotional Intelligence: A skilled and determined negotiator, persistent and energetic.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
* Proven success in delivering significant new business within the chilled food sector.
* Full P&L ownership for at least 3 of the top 6 UK retailers.
* Extensive experience in the chilled food sector, ideally dairy.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the cheese industry.
* Relationships with senior retail personnel, particularly in chilled food.
* Passion for food and the food industry.

* Enthusiastic about generating new sales.
* Persuasive but tactful in negotiations.
* Strong networking skills internally and externally.
* Acts as an ambassador for Joseph Heler, using category insights to drive business.
* Skilled in overcoming objections and resistance to close new deals.
