We currently operate four malting plants within the UK andproduce malt primarily for the brewing and distilling industries. POSITION SCOPE
Responsibleto the above for maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the wholeplant. Operation of barley dryingequipment during harvest period. Shiftrelief as required during holidays and illness. The position further provides assistance to all on site personnel, asand when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Utility
1. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the whole Plant and grounds
2. Monitoring rundown screens to tractor trailer at Howard tank
3. Preparing and filling of export containers
4. Cleaning of jumbo bins and silos in preparation for fumigation and / or refilling
5. Clearing all rubbish to designated skips and recovery of as much usable product as possible
6. Assist Plant engineering department as and when required
7. Ensure all work is carried out in line with the Plant work instructions
8. Ensure site compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and associated external and internal standards for food safety and product quality
9. Operate barley dryer during harvest (12 hour shifts – including nightshift)
10. Remove culm from Buhler kiln or clean floor

11. Holiday/Sickness cover for Malt Technicians
12. Production of malt or barley drying, as per the instructions from the maltings management. This includes the steeping, germination, kilning, and barley drying operations.
13. Transfer of barley from the barley bins into production as required.
14. Transfer kilned malt to the malt storage bins as required.
15. Complete all necessary records in accordance with the company quality standards
16. Assist Malt Technicians to dress malt and barley
17. Operate the Manitou/Drive company vehicle as necessary
