Assistant Medical Secretary - Orthopaedics
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Medical Secretary to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic department within the Head, Neck and Orthopaedic Directorate.
The post is a full time permanent position.
We need someone who enjoys a challenge and is used to working in a busy environment. You must be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent prioritisation, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will require excellent organisational skills, demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, using their own initiative and be willing to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service.
Previous experience in Typing / Administration in a Healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.

Education & Qualifications
* GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent
* RSA Stage 2/3 or equivalent Medical Word processing skills
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people
* Ability to provide cover for consultant secretaries
* Ability to organise, prioritise and manage workload without supervision
* Ability to meet tight time schedules and deadlines
* Previous experience dealing with the public
* Previous secretarial experience or equivalent
* Working under pressure
