The starting salary for this role is £13.91 per hour with various working patterns available.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to oversee, deliver, and lead Short Breaks Club sessions for children and young people who have a disability or additional needs, ensuring that all safeguarding, regulatory, and health & safety requirements are met.
Main Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Children and Young People's services to ensure that the service provided is safe, high quality, and appropriate for the children and young people who attend.
* Act as the responsible person in charge of the scheme when the coordinator/manager is not available.
* Lead sessions, ensuring awareness of all children's activities and proper sign-in/out procedures.
* Build trusting relationships with children and young people to enhance their experience.
* Lead a team of play workers and volunteers, supporting them in their roles and knowing when to seek further assistance.
* Ensure all children and young people feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued upon arrival.
* Conduct appropriate care plans and risk assessments for specific children and young people as needed.
* Communicate with parents and families to ensure accurate information about the children and to keep them informed of any incidents.
* Contribute to the planning, organization, and delivery of activities, ensuring accessibility for all children and young people.
* Work closely with children and their families to provide a range of play opportunities and structured activities.
* Prepare session planning documents for smooth daily operations, including staff allocation and daily logs.
* Supervise the activity environment to ensure safety for all children and young people, documenting any incidents or medication administered.
* Gather feedback from children to ensure their choices are represented.
* Provide and supervise hygienic refreshment provisions.
