We now have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as Production Manager with responsibility for overseeing our production assembly operations at our Andover head office. If successful you will work with your team leaders to drive delivery of our ambitious manufacturing operations goals for 2025 and beyond.
Responsibilities
Principle responsibilities include:
* Plan, implement and control production schedules to ensure delivery deadlines are met and equipment is efficiently utilised.
* Collaborate with supply chain and other stakeholders to identify and communicate any risks, obstacles and proposed solutions to senior management.
* Assess existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for standardisation, efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
* Analyse data to identify areas for process improvement and report on KPIs.
* Ensure factory production equipment maintenance schedules are in place and delivered.
* Determine the design and implementation of shop floor layout, team design and lean processes.
* Recruit, train and coach Team Leaders and Operators.
* Motivate, engage and set targets for Production Team members to meet their goals.
* Monitor & review team and individual work performance and training needs and take action for improvement.
* Ensure health & safety and environmental requirements are implemented across the team.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Proven track record [c. 5 yrs +] as a people leader in manufacturing in a complex, bespoke engineering environment.
* A sound understanding of Health and Safety regulations and their implementation in a production assembly environment.
* Experience of working with plastics bonding and injection moulding of PE/PU, and/or cable manufacture would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Experience of leading and managing others in a supportive and collaborative way, engaging, motivating and driving performance through people.
* Capable of analysing data & presenting production KPIs back to senior management.
* Critical thinking skills and an ability to make sound decisions.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Knowledge of process standards and documentation.
* Ability to identify, assess and solve problems / positive solution focused approach.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to deliver transformational changes to traditional manufacturing practices.
* Experience of using ERP system (ideally Priority ERP) & office IT packages.
