Berkshire Healthcare are seeking an organised and motivated candidate for a Band 4 MSK Physiotherapy Assistant role in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient team. This is a part time post (28 hours) based at Wokingham Community Hospital.
Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in this role or in healthcare but this is not essential. This job would be particularly well suited to applicants with a background in sports and exercise, with experience of delivering exercise and manual therapy. We will provide in-house training to develop the necessary competencies and mentoring to upskill the successful candidate.
Our Therapy Assistants are highly valued members of our clinical team who help us to deliver excellent care and rehabilitation to an extremely varied cohort of patients. You will be closely supported by the team which, depending on location, is compromised of Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Assistants and Administrators.
Main duties of the job
Assisting the physiotherapists in the delivery of individual and group exercise programmes. This may involve delivering exercise sessions, hands on therapies such as
1. massage and patient education. Training is provided in any of the modalities used. All patients are initially assessed by the physiotherapist.
2. Ensuring stock and equipment levels are maintained and re-ordered on a regular basis and that equipment is well maintained and clean in line with infection control guidelines.
3. Carrying own new patient caseload with simple predictable conditions and those delegated by a therapist.
4. Assisting in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service when required, including reception duties, data inputting, photocopying, assisting with audits and completing patient records.

23. Higher Apprenticeship in Health Level 5 or Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care Practice or Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing or a recognised equivalent course
24. Evidence of a good standard of education with GCSE's Grade C and above, or equivalent, in English Language and Maths.
