ROLE PROFILE:
As a key member of our site Technical Team, reporting to the Site Technical Manager, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining all external customer product specifications and internal product packaging specifications.
Your role will include managing artwork, packaging standards, and outer case barcodes, as well as supporting new and existing product development through product trials and sampling activities.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Qualities & Experience:
* Preferably degree-educated in a food science-related field or qualified by experience
Qualifications:
* Training in legal food labelling (Food Information for Consumers regulations)
* Training in retailer Oracle-based specification and documentation portals
Skills and Experience:
* Experience with retailer specification portals and maintaining product specifications
* Understanding of customer standards, specification, artwork approval processes, and labelling codes of practice
* Awareness of food safety legislation, including Food Information Regulations, Nutritional and Marketing Claims, and Packaged Goods Regulations
* At least 12 months of experience in the Food & Beverage industry focusing on product specifications
* Proficient in MS Office
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in Quality and Food Safety Systems Management
Quality and Food Safety Systems:
* Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory and legal requirements
Problem-Solving:
* Ability to analyse information with basic statistical knowledge
