A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established team in the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit and Ward 33 as a Junior Sister.
The Assessment Unit is a 5 bedded SDEC area, caring for patients referred by ED, GP's and outside Health Care providers. It offers a 24/7 service, which also incorporates an Early Pregnancy Unit caring for patients experiencing complications due to early pregnancy up to 15+6 weeks. The inpatient ward has 10 beds accommodating emergency and elective gynaecology patients and some emergency surgical patients.
Main duties of the job
To give and ensure the highest standard of individualised care to our patients and families.
To manage flow through the two areas to facilitate timely discharges, allowing timely elective and emergency admissions.
Working effectively with all members of the multi disciplinary team.
Acting as an excellent role model for junior staff.
Must possess excellent communication skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

2. Experience at Senior Staff Nurse Level
3. Mentorship or Preceptorship course
