About the role
Reporting into the People Services Manager, this role is responsible for delivering the end-to-end HR transactional processing during all stages of the employee life cycle, ensuring we deliver right first time for our people. Also responsible for processing of payroll information and supporting investigation into payroll queries, to support timely and accurate pay, working in conjunction with our outsourced payroll team. This role will advise on policy and procedure, be responsible for issuing employee correspondence and be a super user of our HRIS.
This is a full-time, Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months and will be based at our office in Chorley or Warrington office along with working from home on a hybrid basis.
What will your day look like
Support the timely resolution of HR and payroll queries, in conjunction with the wider HR team, outsourced payroll team and business managers
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of basic regulatory, legislative and systems changes relevant to the service, to ensure the function operates effectively and compliantly.
Support with basic payroll calculations such as hourly/daily rates of pay.
Issue offer letters/packs and contracts, and act as point of contact for contract queries
Provide onboarding support to new hires, including receiving relevant starter documentation, reference and security & vetting checks, and liaising with other departments such as Fleet and IT for provision of company cars and equipment
Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on people policy and standard operating procedure, ensuring compliance and governance is always adhered to.
Transactional processing (administrative functions, data input) covering the end-to-end employee lifecycle including - starters, leavers, benefits and terms & conditions changes
Import variable and ad hoc payment requests to the payroll system, and liaise with outsourced payroll to facilitate off-cycle payments
Handling telephone and email queries, recording all on the case management system (CRM)
Issue employee correspondence at various stages of the employee lifecycle
Run and distribute reports, providing management information and employee data to business stakeholders and third-party providers as applicable
Operate within agreed service standards/KPIs, taking swift action to resolve where failure to meet these standards occurs
Work within the company standard operating procedures and look at how we can continuously improve on the operating model
About you
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of employment legislation, along with familiarity in payroll processes, legislation, and calculations. Experience using HRIS systems, particularly Dayforce, is preferred. You should be comfortable working to KPIs and have previous experience in a customer-facing role, ensuring excellent service and support to both employees and management.
