We are looking to recruit a Team Leader and Validator for the busy Admissions department at Whipps Cross Hospital.
To provide support to the Scheduling Delivery Manager and to cover during the delivery manager's annual leave while managing a team of schedulers.
The postholder will lead a team of schedulers to ensure efficient and effective systems of work are carried out.
Responsibilities include:
1. Attending Daily Ops meetings and theatre planning meetings.
2. Running PTL meetings and managing day-to-day staff activities.
3. Reporting to the Scheduling Delivery Manager and being well-versed in RTT 18 weeks policies and processes.
4. Coordinating patients through their clinical pathway in line with the 18 weeks Program.
5. Supporting the Service’s monthly Clinical Governance and mortality meetings by ensuring dedicated administrative support, including preparation, coordination of documentation, and follow-up of all administrative actions.
6. Working collaboratively with administrative and clinical teams to provide high-quality care for patients across all specialties.
The ability to forge close working relationships with hospital administration staff, clinical staff, and colleagues is essential. A working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft programs is required, along with experience in electronic patient record systems.
The purpose of this post is to actively manage the administrative processes of patient pathways and the 18-week target, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by the Trust. Additionally, the role includes providing an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.
You will ensure the provision of comprehensive and efficient booking and scheduling services for patients, adhering to the Trust's Access policy with national and local access targets.
The role requires the postholder to develop efficient and effective systems of work to ensure that patients experience good communication, choice, and a personal and responsive service.
To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, standard operating procedures (SOP) will describe how the functions of this role will be carried out along with the timescales that will be adhered to.
