Therapy Assistant
Band 3
Job overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our highly acclaimed and well-established Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department, based at Salford Care Organisation on a full-time basis. The opportunity is within one of our inpatient therapy teams and will involve working as part of the multidisciplinary workforce to support patient care and the day-to-day running of the service.
This is an incredible opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference by supporting an individual’s recovery from illness or injury and to be part of a dynamic and friendly team.
Successful candidates will have a clear competency framework to work to and a robust period of induction when joining the team, with an ongoing structure for supervision and development.
The role includes some weekend working, but no more than one weekend shift per month unless desired. We welcome interested people to contact us with any questions.
Main duties of the job
You will support and assist with the work of the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing assessment, planning, and delivering treatment programmes to patients with multiple needs.
You will also take responsibility for administration tasks to ensure the department and team’s needs are met.
You should have evidence of a good standard of education including GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths with a NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant.
You will have good communication skills, the ability to use your own initiative, good time management skills, and the ability to problem solve.
Experience of working within a team is also required and, if this has not been in a health care setting, we would expect the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate and evidence the relevant transferable skills.
