An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to contribute to our team as clinical trials pharmacist at Ipswich Hospital.
You will be based at Ipswich Hospital, provide leadership and project management for clinical trials service within Pharmacy as well as working clinically at ward level.
Being a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will be expected to fully integrate within the clinical and technical environment providing leadership for both patient services and clinical trials.
Weekend working and on-call will be required for this role.
This post is to cover a secondment until 20th June 2025. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacy department in ensuring the effective management of pharmaceutical aspects of Clinical Trials and Research within East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
You will liaise closely with the Research and Development (R&D) Department and Lead Clinicians across the Trust, and support the Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN).
You will be expected to provide clinical input to Technical and Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Support will also be provided to ensure that you achieve any additional training deemed necessary to work in Clinical Trials Research.

Person Specification
Experience
* Previous hospital pharmacy experience
* Demonstrated experience of multi-disciplinary working
* Previous budgetary management experience
* Previous experience working in a licensed MIA(IMP) facility
* Previous experience of managing clinical trials
* Experience of technical as well as clinical aspects of pharmacy
* Previous experience in delivering training and education
* Previous experience in pharmaceutical research and development
Qualifications
* GPhC Registered
* Certificated training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), or willing to undertake training within three months of appointment
Knowledge
* Computer Literacy
* Good all-round clinical knowledge relating to clinical pharmacy practice
* Wide clinical knowledge of issues affecting Antimicrobial Stewardship
* Good clinical knowledge of the Medication Safety agenda
* Good understanding of the clinical audit process

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum pro rata
