As the Sodexo Cook Manager at Millenium Primary School, London, you will be in charge of the whole food and beverage department and the kitchen's finances. As the head of the school catering department, it is your responsibility to guarantee that the food and service provided are of the finest quality. You will be the person your team looks to for guidance and support, creating a lively and effective work atmosphere. You will also receive public holiday time off, including Christmas, and you won't work unsociable hours!

What you do:
1. Manage the replenishment of food and the dismantling of work areas at the end of service.
2. Develop, mentor, conduct training, and inspire the kitchen team.
3. Control the complete catering operation, including labour, food, and stock expenses.
4. Manage and optimise all costs that are under your control.
5. Ensure uniformity in the food and service standards provided to staff members, visitors, and students.
6. Manage the creation and development of menus.
7. Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are being followed.
What you bring:
1. Expertise in cooking on a large scale, anywhere between 100 – 1300 students.
2. Experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting.
3. Previous staff supervision or line management experience.
4. Experience working with fresh produce and ingredients.
5. Awareness of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
6. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
7. Professionalism, leading by example with a positive outlook.
8. Basic food handling skills certification (NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food Safety Certificate).
9. A minimum of 1 year of hands-on cooking experience; training on Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided.

Package Description:
£15.00 per hour, 32.5 hours per week, working pattern: Monday to Friday 8am to 2:30pm, Term Time only (39-week working contract paid over 52 weeks).
Equated pay is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks, and holiday pay spread over 12 months.
