The job
We are looking for an Identity and Access Management (IDAM) Senior Manager to oversee AVEVA’s IDAM capabilities, initially focusing on AVEVA before expanding to include RIB and ETAP as part of the software group.
This involves leading the existing team, driving the IDAM transformation program, and aligning with business objectives to integrate security and compliance seamlessly into business processes.
The role includes developing the IDAM strategy, delivering a step change in how IDAM is approached, owning IDAM platforms, governance, and processes, and fostering collaboration across HR, IT, R&D, Procurement, and Security teams to safeguard the organization’s digital assets while enabling secure and effective user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement IDAM strategies, solutions, and policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with business objectives and internal policies.
2. Lead the team in managing user access provisioning, de-provisioning, authentication, and the full user lifecycle, while overseeing identity governance and privileged access management.
3. Act as a subject-matter expert on all IDAM disciplines, including identity lifecycle, governance, access management (SSO, MFA), and identity verification.
4. Collaborate across HR, IT, R&D, Procurement, and Security teams to align security requirements and drive the adoption of IDAM systems within the business.
5. Evaluate and implement emerging IDAM technologies to enhance security, user experience, and service efficiency.
6. Provide governance over IDAM platforms, support services, and operational performance (KPIs, SLAs), while delivering regular status reports to stakeholders.
7. Foster business engagement, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the understanding of IAM systems to facilitate decision-making.
8. Manage team capacity, skill development, and financial reporting for IDAM activities, while collaborating with the IT Office team to optimize vendor partnerships and services.
9. Stay informed on digital trends and assess the potential impact of new technologies on IDAM services.
Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. 8+ years of IDAM experience, either operational and/or consulting.
3. Hands-on expertise in IDAM concepts including federation, authentication, authorization, access controls, and the identity provisioning lifecycle.
4. In-depth knowledge of Identity Governance solutions (IGA), configuration, security, integration, reporting, and testing methodologies.
5. Experience with IGA solutions (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, PingIdentity, CyberArk) and on-prem/SaaS implementations.
6. Strong understanding of business processes, identity-first security, IT controls, risk management, and compliance standards.
7. Experience with authentication technologies and solutions (e.g., Azure AD, federated identity management).
8. Familiarity with audits, compliance standards, and risk management.
9. Strong people and technical management expertise.
10. Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at a cross-functional level.
11. Experience with HR technology platforms like Workday.
12. Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in IDAM.
13. Experience with at least two large-scale IGA solution implementations.
14. Certification in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and/or Information Security certifications (CISSP, CISM).
15. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced and complex environment.
16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with users, professionals, and IT teams.
17. Strategic thinking ability, incorporating business needs into technical roadmaps and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
18. Ability to translate security-related matters into business terms, ensuring clear and understandable communication with executives.
19. Adept at working with program management and IT Office to maintain delivery and financial commitments.
20. Leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams, direct complex projects, and drive initiatives forward.

By default, employees are expected to be in their local AVEVA office three days a week, but some positions are fully office-based. Roles supporting particular customers or markets are sometimes remote.
